2 kinds of eggs.

An Easter post is coming on the Friday before Easter. Now, we all should know that Easter is not about eggs, or candy, or the (make believe) easter bunny. It is about Jesus! We celebrate Jesus rising from the grave on Easter! It is okay to decorate with bunnies and collect eggs. But, remember Jesus is why we celebrate Easter. That is what Easter is all about!

Here are two different activities you can do to. They all have something to do with Jesus!

The first one is called a Confetti Egg. You crack a small hole in the top of the egg, then you turn it upside down and drain the yolk out (I would suggest that you scramble, sunny side up , fry etc. the eggs the next day to avoid wasting them.) Then stuff them as much as you can with confetti without breaking them. Put a piece of tissue paper on top of the hole in the egg. On Easter morning crack it open and say “Happy Resurrection Day” We love you Jesus!” Then go enjoy the Easter service at your church!

The second is called the Resurrection Eggs. Every Easter my family opens each one of the eggs and we read about what is inside of it. Each color egg has a different object inside telling the Easter story. From when Jesus rode into town on the donkey to when his rose from the grave!

Remember Easter is about Jesus not about bunnies, or eggs, or candy. It is okay to decorate with those things and collect eggs. But, remember Jesus is why we celebrate Easter. That is what Easter is all about!

The triumphal entry.

Yesterday was Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday is one week before Easter or also know as Resurrection Day. Palm Sunday is when Jesus went into Jerusalem riding on a donkey.

Hundreds of people lay down their cloaks and the palm branches from the trees onto the ground. They shouted “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” There was such a ruckus that the Pharisees came out to see what was going on.

28 And when he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.29 When he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olive, he sent two of the disciples, 30 saying, “Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’” 32 So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them.33 And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34 And they said, “The Lord has need of it.” 35 And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it. 36 And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road. 37 As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, 38 saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!39 And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”40 He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

Wow, the stones would cry out! Even the stones know who Jesus is.

Have you ever happened to see a donkey’s back? It has a cross on it. From the littlest donkeys, to the oldest, they all have crosses. It didn’t get that cross because it carried a cross, or any other fairy tale or fable that talks about it. It got the cross from one person, Jesus Christ the Son of God!

The Lord’s Prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

I’ll just come out and say it, “There is no such thing as luck.” God gives us blessing, but he don’t give luck. If you win something, get picked first, get the biggest cookie etc. Don’t say I am so lucky! Say I am so blessed!

Instead of thinking of luck on St.Patrick’s Day, think about a shamrock (notice I did not say a lucky four leaf clover). A shamrock has three leaves but it is one whole shamrock! Just like God, it’s God the father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.

Do you know how the Irish came about? We have to go wayyyyyyyyyy back to the Tower Of Babel. The people were getting too full of themselves saying “we can build a tower so high it will reach God!” ” We don’t need God’s help we can do it by ourselves.”First of all nothing and no one can reach God he is in the 3rd heaven. The first heaven is the blue sky, the second is Outer Space, the third is the one and the only Heaven. Second notice they said “WE can build it” they got to prideful. So God confused their languages. So, we had people who probably spoke Hebrew speaking German, or Spanish, or Irish etc. Then they went to different lands and some of them sailed here on the Mayflower. Pretty cool right?

Did you know St. Patrick was a preacher?  Because his father was a deacon he told Maewyn to live the farmer for a while to help him grow in godly values. It’s true! Some Irish pig farmer helped raised Maewyn Succat. That’s right! Later they named Maewyn St. Patrick. Anyways, Maewyn prayed alot while he fed the pigs, ate supper, while he was doing school work! But, the people of Ireland prayed to objects like a twig. The farmer told Maewyn to stop praying to God, but Maewyn would not stop praying so he ran away. He traveled to a port and sailed to England. There he grew up learning God’s word. But in a dream the people of Ireland wanted Maewyn to return and teach them about Jesus. So, Maewyn finished his schooling and became a preacher, receiving the name St. Patrick. And he returned to Ireland teaching them about Jesus, using the shamrock as an example of God. 3 but yet 1!

Remember, don’t think about luck on St. Patrick’s Day think about God! 3 but yet 1!

Bible Drilling.

Please join us on Sunday, March 8 at 5:30 pm for Bible Drill. After you hear children, youth, and high schoolers say the verses and look up the books of the bible in ten seconds, join us in a fellowship meal afterwards.

Bible Drill is a Bible Scripture Memorization Program. Children learn verses, key passages, and the Books of the Bible. They are challenged to locate these scriptures in their Bible in a 10 second time block.

In 2014, we had a group of Youth Bible Drillers who also learned verses, key passages, Books of the Bible and Doctrine Scriptures. These drillers were challenged to locate these scriptures in 8 seconds. We also had one High School Bible Driller!

But, we have already our verses and our key passages. So now it is time to drill!

Little brother….. Part 2!

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Psalm 116:1 I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy

Psalm 66:19 But verily God has heard me; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.

I just want to thank all of you who prayed for my brother’s healing. He is running around happy and healthy now! He says that his stomach does not hurt anymore, and he is not vomiting any more! Thank you for praying!

But, most of all……. THANK YOU JESUS FOR HEALING HIM!!!!!!!!
