Knowing You Are Special: You Are Loved

Jeremiah 31:3- I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.

A good amount of children today have struggling families at home. Parents that fight over money issues, custody of a child, financial problems, don’t spend enough time at home, and so on. This leaves a lot of children and teens feeling down and especially not loved. Most teens today feel that no one loves them. No one cares about them. I’ve felt this way myself. Because they feel this way, they look for ways to fill that hole in their heart. They think “Well if I have a boyfriend I’ll feel loved”, “If I have more friends I”ll feel loved”, “If I try to drink away that feeling” or “If I take as many numbing drugs as I possibly can, the pain will go away and I’ll feel loved.” But these things don’t work. You might feel different for a time but they can’t give you the feeling of unconditional love the way God can.

Jeremiah 31:3 says that “I (God) have loved you with an everlasting love”. Do you know how long everlasting actually is? No one can really explain it. It’s a love that goes on forever and ever and ever and ever. It never ends. God loved you before you were even born. He loved you while you were a toddler. He loved you while you were a little child. And he still loves you now. Amidst all the sins and wrong things we commit during the day, he still loves us. No matter what we do, God still loves us. He gets disappointed in us, but nothing will ever take his love away from us. He loved you so much that he died on the cross for you. God sent his only son to DIE for YOU. Before you were even born he loved and cared about you. He still does and he always will. Another bible verse says that he will never leave you nor forsake you. When you feel no one loves you, think again because God does love you.

“But how do I know God loves me?” You are alive today aren’t you? Life is going pretty good isn’t it? You have clothes on your back and food on your table. If God didn’t love you, he wouldn’t have blessed you with food, clothes, and breath once again. If God didn’t love you then he wouldn’t have sent his only child to die for you. We lie, cheat, steal, curse, yell, murder, adulterate, covet, etc every day. And amidst ALL these sins we constantly commit, he STILL loves us.

The rest of the verse goes on to say that “therefore I have continued my faithfulness towards you”. Which means that God is faithful. If he is faithful, then he keeps his promises. And one promise he makes is that he will never leave nor forsake you. He will ALWAYS love you and be there for you.

When you feel you aren’t special and that no one loves you. Not the world, your parents, siblings, and even friends love or care about you. Just turn to Jesus. Because he is ALWAYS there and he is always offering his unending and everlasting love towards you.

Stayed tuned for the next point/ next post of the series! God bless.

Series: Knowing You Are Special-1

This is my first post of the series, so welcome! Throughout this week we are going to be focusing on 7 points, one for each day.

Today’s point being;

Knowing You Are Special: God made you

Genesis 1:27- So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Everyone gets those feelings along the lines of, “I’m not good enough”, “I’m not special”, “Nobody likes me”, “I’m a useless nothing”, “I might as well die”.

A lot of kids today feel like they are the only ones experiencing these feelings. Even someone who is really in love with Jesus, who you feel has never experienced those feelings, most likely has. The Devil tries to entice our mind with horrible thoughts such as these. And he is more rampant today then ever before. Teenage depression has gone up more in the 2000’s than ever before.

You need to not listen to the devil’s lies. You need to know you are something. You are someone special. Why? Now we come to our point for the day, God Made You.

Even if you don’t feel special, you need to know that you are someone special because God made you. Our bible verse for today says that “So God created man in his own image”. God made you like him. 3 but 1. You have a soul, spirit, and body. Just like God is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Animals aren’t made like humans. We are unique! Genesis 1:27 also says that “in the image of God he created him. Male and female he created them.” God made you special. And I’m not just saying that. You are different from EVERY SINGLE PERSON in this world. No one has your exact number of hairs on their head, no one has the exact cornea, exact personality, or fingerprint. Someone may look a lot like you, but they aren’t the same as you. Someone may act a lot like you but they aren’t the same as you. There is only one of YOU in this world. There has never been a YOU and they will never be YOU. You are special. You are special in this world and most importantly in God’s sight. God put you here for a reason. God made each of us special for a reason. You are special in God’s sight, even if the world can’t see it.

So if one day you get depressed and the Devil is bothering you, telling you more lies and telling you that you aren’t special, just remember, God Made You. And because of that, YOU ARE SPECIAL.

Next post will be up tomorrow and we will look at the second point in this series. God Bless, stay tuned!
