Like the tree

An old song goes “I saw a tree by the riverside one day as I walked along. Straight as an arrow in went pointing to sky growing tall and strong. How do you grow so tall and strong? I said to the riverside tree. This is the song that my tree friend sang to me. I got roots growing down to the water. I’ve got leaves growing up to the sunshine, and the fruit that I bear is a sign of life in me. I am shade from a hot summer sundown. I am nest for the birds of the heavens I am becoming what the Lord of trees has meant me to be. A strong young tree.”

Jeremiah 17:8 They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

We need to be like a tree. Never fearing when things come our way, no worries, and never failing to show fruit of the spirit.

Psalm 1:2-3 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither– whatever they do prospers.

Always prospering, standing tall, always delighting in the Lord, meditating on his law.

Psalm 92:12 The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

Psalm 106:5 That I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, That I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, That I may glory with Your inheritance

Proverbs 11:28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.

If we trust in the Lord we will flourish like a leaf. Stand tall and not be moved, like a tree. Never being afraid, no worries, and never failing to bear fruit.And also humble.

If you have seen a willow tree, notice in bends. It is a humble looking tree. Almost like it is willowtree2bowing down to it’s maker.

We also need to drink water like the trees. Only not physical water, but spiritual water. Jesus said to the woman at the well, “but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst again. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

If we follow Jesus he will give us the water he talks about. He will come into are hearts. And the water of life will become a spring of water welling up to eternal life with Jesus forever. And in heaven you won’t thirst at all. But in hell you will. In this life you will thirst for ways out of situations, thirst for love, hope, other things. But all you need is Jesus and you won’t thirst for again again. Jesus fills you. He is enough.

Isaiah 44:3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

John 7:37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.

We also need to stand strong on the word of God. Ever heard of the song, “The wise man built his house upon the rock. The foolish man built his house upon the sand. The rains came down and the floods came up. But the house on the rock stood firm”

The rock is meaning to symbolize Jesus. “On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand.”

Isaiah 26:4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.

Psalm 78:35 And they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their Redeemer.

2 Samuel 32:22 “For who is God, besides the LORD? And who is a rock, besides our God?

Deuteronomy 32:31 “Indeed their rock is not like our Rock, Even our enemies themselves judge this

Deuteronomy 32: 4 The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.

Psalm 62:7 On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.

We need to be humble like the willow. Strong like the cedar. Green like the oak. Fruitful like the apple. Flourishing like the palm. Delighting in the Lord like all trees delight in sunlight, water, soil. Prospering like the healthy tree. Tall like a pine. Not thirsty like the tree by the stream. Have a strong foundation like the tree on strong ground.

When you think about it we need to take these attributes from the trees and apply them to our own lives.

We need to be humans after God’s own heart. And we can apply a few things from God’s creation to our lives too.



No longer a slave


Please forgive me for not posting in a very long time. I’ve just been busy with summer activities. Camps, church, the beach, and the Olympics etc.

I entitled my post no longer a slave because there is a song with the exact same name. The song tells about how we are no longer slaves to fear. But a child of God.

With Jesus’ help; if we ask him, we can be no longer slaves to anything. Anxiety, stress, fear, worry, sin…. Whatever might be bothering you in this life.

Galations 4:7 says that, You are no longer slaves, but God’s child. And since you are his child you have become his heir.

And John 8:36 says that “So if the son has set you free than you SHALL be free indeed.

If you ask God to help you with whatever you might be struggling with he will help you. Like the verse says ‘than you shall be free indeed’

Free from whatever is bothering you, attacking you, holding you ‘hostage’. With his help we can no longer be slaves to anything in this life.

And since we are no longer slaves, we are God’s child.

And no one could ever pluck us from his hand.

Back from the mountains.

Hey guys! Sorry for not posting in a long while. My family went on a little trip to visit family and then we stopped by the mountains.

The mountains were beautiful! God’s amazing creation was so gorgeous. Birds, trees,mountains, flowers, ducks, water. We saw many gorgeous things.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The lake was just the right temp to swim in.

Not to hot. (it never really is 🙂 )

Or too cold.

Just right. It was very good. Just like God said after finishing all he had made.

Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning–the sixth day.

While we were swimming we saw a little something in the water. And the ground, and in the creek behind our cabin. Seashells, and mussels.  In the mountains.


Now, don’t try to say someone dumped them on the mountain, or there used to be an ocean or something weird like that. Just face the facts. There WAS a global flood. Like the one mentioned in Genesis.

Genesis 7: 14-19 They and every beast after its kind, all cattle after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort. 15 And they went into the ark to Noah, two by two, of all flesh in which is the breath of life. 16 So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in.

17 Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. 18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered.


People are still finding seashells in rock, and canyons today!

But either if God made the mountains before the flood, or if the flood made the mountains they are still so gorgeous that we know that there MUST be a creator. And he is God.

Even though God had to flood the whole Earth, for that is how wicked people were, he still made something beautiful come out of it. Valleys, mountains, etc. Every time God must judge someone or something, something beautiful always comes out of it.

Sweeter than Sweet Tea


So, I really love sweet tea. And the kind that I make is pretty sweet. 🙂

I am sitting here drinking sweet tea as I type this post to y’all.

Did you know that Jesus is sweet? Did you know that his word’s are sweet to our soul?

The bible says in Psalm 119:103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

And honey is pretty sweet.

This is a great option because honey is a good lightening agent since it has a small amount of hydrogen peroxide. For this, you’ll need 2 cups of distilled vinegar and one cup of honey. You can also add 1 tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil to nourish your hair, or 1 tablespoon of cinnamon to enhance the lightening effect. Just combine the ingredients and distribute on your hair. Wrap it up in a towel or use a shower cap, leave in for several hours, and then rinse out. The most convenient wa:

Notice the bible didn’t say sour like lemons. Because God’s word, the bible. Which are Jesus’ words, are sweet to our bodies.Like a spiritual food.

So for #1, we know that God’s word, Jesus’ words are sweet to our bodies.

#2 In Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

So, now we know that pleasant words, words that have the fruits of the spirit. Love, joy,peace,patience,kindness,goodness,faithfulness,gentleness,and self control. Are sweet to our soul, and healing, nourishment to our bones.

We must try to say uplifting,kind, and sweet words. Although it might be hard sometimes.

#3 Psalm 55:14 We who had sweet fellowship together Walked in the house of God in the throng.

We need a sweet fellowship. With God, with siblings, with husbands or wives, with anyone.

God wants us to have a sweet relationship with him. And others.

1 John 1:3 What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ

#4 And if you haven’t been saved, you need to trust in Jesus. Like the song says “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus”

Say sweet words, read Jesus’ sweet words,  have a sweet fellowship with God and man, and if you haven’t been saved, trust in the sweet name of Jesus.These things have spiritual sweetness. And they are SO much sweeter than sweet tea. 

2 Corinthians 2:15 For we are unto God a sweet savour (perfume) of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish

Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;

But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

A poem

Sorry for not posting in a long time. We just finished our testing week (End of grade), so we have been busy.

Below is a poem that I wrote . It is inspired by the bible verses… (this is Paul talking)

Philippians 4:11-13 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Just be thankful

Count your blessings one by one

See what Jehovah God

Has done

A house, car, a bed to sleep

Drink, and food to eat

But why?

Must we complain for God

has given us things

But some

have not,no house, no bed

not even a pillow to rest their head

So why complain?

When we have clothes,toys, and shoes?

Just be thankful

For what God has given you

For that is the secret of being content

By counting your blessings

Instead of your cents

Instead of wants,wishes, or things

Just count your blessings

That the good Lord brings.

Don’t let them silence you
