Knowing You Are Special: You Are Loved

Jeremiah 31:3- I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.

A good amount of children today have struggling families at home. Parents that fight over money issues, custody of a child, financial problems, don’t spend enough time at home, and so on. This leaves a lot of children and teens feeling down and especially not loved. Most teens today feel that no one loves them. No one cares about them. I’ve felt this way myself. Because they feel this way, they look for ways to fill that hole in their heart. They think “Well if I have a boyfriend I’ll feel loved”, “If I have more friends I”ll feel loved”, “If I try to drink away that feeling” or “If I take as many numbing drugs as I possibly can, the pain will go away and I’ll feel loved.” But these things don’t work. You might feel different for a time but they can’t give you the feeling of unconditional love the way God can.

Jeremiah 31:3 says that “I (God) have loved you with an everlasting love”. Do you know how long everlasting actually is? No one can really explain it. It’s a love that goes on forever and ever and ever and ever. It never ends. God loved you before you were even born. He loved you while you were a toddler. He loved you while you were a little child. And he still loves you now. Amidst all the sins and wrong things we commit during the day, he still loves us. No matter what we do, God still loves us. He gets disappointed in us, but nothing will ever take his love away from us. He loved you so much that he died on the cross for you. God sent his only son to DIE for YOU. Before you were even born he loved and cared about you. He still does and he always will. Another bible verse says that he will never leave you nor forsake you. When you feel no one loves you, think again because God does love you.

“But how do I know God loves me?” You are alive today aren’t you? Life is going pretty good isn’t it? You have clothes on your back and food on your table. If God didn’t love you, he wouldn’t have blessed you with food, clothes, and breath once again. If God didn’t love you then he wouldn’t have sent his only child to die for you. We lie, cheat, steal, curse, yell, murder, adulterate, covet, etc every day. And amidst ALL these sins we constantly commit, he STILL loves us.

The rest of the verse goes on to say that “therefore I have continued my faithfulness towards you”. Which means that God is faithful. If he is faithful, then he keeps his promises. And one promise he makes is that he will never leave nor forsake you. He will ALWAYS love you and be there for you.

When you feel you aren’t special and that no one loves you. Not the world, your parents, siblings, and even friends love or care about you. Just turn to Jesus. Because he is ALWAYS there and he is always offering his unending and everlasting love towards you.

Stayed tuned for the next point/ next post of the series! God bless.

Feel good about yourself! (part 1)

Have you ever been in a play? A Christmas play maybe? Well, my church and I are working on a Christmas play together. I am playing the part of Mary!:) But Joseph is a fourteen year old boy who is way way taller than me. (just so you know I am short). I feel sort of sad because well, my mom said it looks stupid (me and him standing beside one another) because of the height difference. I decided that I will wear high heels to make me look taller for the play. But, on the inside I feel like someone else should be Mary instead of me because it looks like I am Josephs kid instead of his wife! But it says here in 1 Timothy 4:12 not to look down on yourself because you are young but be an example to the believers. So if your short or have really messy hair or glasses or braces or any thing that you might look down on or not feel good about remember that verse. I also have another thing, people and kids think I am younger than I really am. Like for instants I am in sixth grade and people treat me like a third grader or the high schoolers at my church if they don’t know me then they treat me like I’m in elementary school. ( theres nothing wrong with elementary school children it just gets a little annoying when your in middle school and people think your in elementary.) It says here in Luke 6:31 to do unto others as you would have them do to you. So don’t get mad if someone treats you bad just remember Matthew 5:38 – 48 which says     38“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’h 39But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.43“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbori and hate your enemy.’ 44But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
